First: the recession IS over... by definition. And, yes, the lagging indicators of employment and spending will need 6 months or so to recover. They were the last things to go in the toilet and they will be the last ones out.

Trust me, nudity quickly loses its sexual allure when EVERYONE is stripped down. BTW: not everyone has perfect bodies - even in LA.

By definition he has deserved it. We don't make the decision, the Nobel committee does. They decided he deserves, therefore he does.

While I would not claim that the price of healthcare is by any stretch of the imagination transparent, neither is it as bad as the author suggests. At least, not where I live (Pacific Northwest).

Uncalled for. Rudeness should not be tolerated. He should be sanctioned in spite of his apology. Otherwise others will think it is OK.

My guess is that 55% of the population thinks it is a bad idea because that same 55% is not eligible to take advantage of the program. Pardon my cynicism.

It seems to me that the threat of increased violence by the pirates is relatively empty. The only things that keeps the assorted policing agencies from taking pirated vessels back by force are the hostages. If they kill the crew, the pirates die. If they sink the vessel, the pirates die.
